Painting is my medicine.

It’s how I feel whole within myself and how I connect to the greater Whole; the mysterious process of creation.

It’s just paint on canvas, but it is also the act of transforming the raw elements of life into something completely new.  It is my hope and intention that my paintings can be felt. If we are open to feeling rather than knowing, a shift from head to heart happens. For me, this shift is the powerful medicine of non-representational art.

I received my MFA in painting from the University of Oklahoma in 1987. Between the years of 1987-2014 I exhibited and sold paintings and sculpture in numerous solo and group shows throughout Texas. In 2014 I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I exhibited and sold, and then moved to Washington in 2020. Most days I can be found painting in my Port Townsend studio.
